Role summary:

JMT Gem Villa is a boutique hospitality property in Colombo seeking a dedicated housekeeping team member to maintain cleanliness, presentation, and comfort throughout the villa for local and international guests. The role supports daily operations and contributes to guest satisfaction and the property’s reputation.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of guest rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and public spaces to established hygiene and presentation standards.
• Prepare rooms: change linens, make beds, replenish toiletries and minibar items, and inspect rooms for damage or maintenance needs before guest arrival.
• Follow cleaning schedules, complete assigned checklists, handle laundry tasks or coordinate with laundry service, and manage housekeeping supplies.
• Respond politely to reasonable guest requests for additional items or services and report guest feedback to the supervisor.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and follow health and safety procedures.
• Assist with other housekeeping and property upkeep tasks as directed.

Job Specification: Must-have:

• Proven housekeeping or room attendant experience in hospitality or a similar environment (minimum 1 year).
• Strong attention to detail; ability to spot cleanliness and maintenance issues.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and proper use of detergents and equipment.
• Ability to handle laundry, folding, and linen management.
• Good time management to complete room turnovers and daily cleaning tasks on schedule.
• Basic communication skills in English; ability to interact courteously with guests and colleagues.
• Physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting light-to-moderate loads, and performing repetitive tasks during shifts.
• Reliability, punctuality, and professional approach to guest privacy and property security.
