Welders

Job Description: Kadwa Inc. ZA is recruiting experienced welders to support mining and industrial operations in Johannesburg as part of a Southern Africa mining and industrial recruitment drive. Operating across open-cast and underground environments, the company emphasizes safety, reliability and equipment uptime. The welders will work within maintenance and fabrication teams to repair, fabricate and modify structural and mechanical components for conveyors, earthmoving equipment, processing plants and underground support systems. Shift patterns will be morning shifts with site-based attendance in Johannesburg.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform welding and cutting tasks on steel, stainless and alloy components using SMAW, MIG/MAG and TIG processes as required.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work orders and welding procedures to complete repairs and fabrications to specification.
• Carry out pre- and post-weld inspections, including measuring, grinding, tack-welding and dimensional checks to ensure conformity.
• Maintain and set up welding equipment, consumables and basic tooling; report defects and arrange minor routine maintenance.
• Follow site safety protocols, hot-work and confined-space permit systems, and use required PPE.

Job Specification: Must-have:

• Proven hands-on experience welding in industrial or mining environments (structural and mechanical repairs).
• Proficiency in SMAW (stick), MIG/MAG and TIG welding techniques and electrode/filler selection.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols and basic engineering sketches.
• Competence in measuring, grinding, fit-up, tack-welding and producing sound weld beads with minimal rework.
• Familiarity with welding inspection methods and basic NDT awareness.
• Experience working under hot-work and confined-space permit systems and following site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Completed trade certification or technical diploma in welding/fabrication OR at least 3 years verifiable industrial/mining welding experience with valid site safety induction records.

Other requirements:

• Reliable attendance and ability to work outdoors/in mining conditions.
• Readiness for shift-based, on-site work and some travel within the region.
