Job Description: Company Overview:

Blesco, LLC is a Canada-based logistics and supply chain company providing integrated transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment solutions across the United States. We serve entertainment, retail, e-commerce, and light-manufacturing clients.

Role Overview:

The Truck Dispatcher will be based in Toronto and work as part of the operations team to coordinate linehaul and regional truck movements, optimize asset utilization, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign and dispatch drivers and trucks based on load requirements, delivery windows, and driver hours-of-service limits.
  • Monitor in-transit shipments using TMS and GPS platforms; adjust routes in real time to avoid delays and minimize costs.
  • Communicate proactively with drivers, shippers, and receivers to confirm pick-ups, delivery appointments, and special handling instructions.
  • Coordinate with warehousing and cross-dock teams to sequence loads and reduce dwell time at terminals.
  • Manage exceptions such as breakdowns, traffic incidents, or missed appointments.
Job Specification:
  • Minimum 2 years professional truck dispatching or transportation operations experience.
  • Proven experience with route planning, load assignment, and managing over-the-road carrier operations.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and routing/GPS platforms.
  • Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA hours-of-service rules, driver qualification files, and safety/compliance procedures.
  • Experience with carrier documentation workflows and rate confirmations.
  • Ability to monitor live shipment telemetry and adjust plans quickly.
  • Basic data analysis skills: interpret on-time delivery metrics, detention reports, and utilization figures.
  • Attention to detail for maintaining shipment status, fuel/mileage logs, and electronic TMS records.
  • Problem-solving for exceptions (breakdowns, weather, missed appointments) and contingency routing.
  • Familiarity with last-mile/regional distribution, cross-docking practices.
  • Comfortable working hybrid/remote with scheduled on-site coordination in the Toronto area.
