Technician

Job Description: Impala Platinum Mine (Rustenburg) is recruiting a permanent Technician to join the construction team. The role involves maintaining and repairing plant and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on site machinery and installations
• Assist artisans and trades with installations, lifts, and equipment changes
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards and incidents
• Support shutdowns and project work as required
• Work shifts and overtime when necessary

Job Specification:

• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience as a technician or in a similar role
• Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems; basic fault finding
• Ability to read technical drawings and use hand and portable power tools
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel on site
• Basic computer skills for logging work and reporting
• Good communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards
• Trackless equipment experience preferred
