Overview:

Sheri Automotive Limited, a Dar Es Salaam-based supplier of European truck and Chinese bus autoparts, seeks a proactive Salesman to grow sales across Tanzania. The role is within a small, customer-focused automotive team and emphasizes building long-term relationships with fleet operators, spare-parts retailers, and service centers. The Salesman will represent the company at client sites and regional markets, provide product guidance, and support after-sales coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to meet monthly and quarterly targets across Dar Es Salaam and surrounding regions.
  • Identify prospective customers, conduct product presentations, and demonstrate part compatibility and advantages for European trucks and Chinese buses.
  • Manage customer inquiries, prepare quotations, negotiate terms, and close sales while ensuring margin and company policies are observed.
  • Coordinate orders with warehouse, logistics, and service teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Maintain and update CRM records, sales pipelines, and activity reports for management review.
  • Attend trade shows, customer premises, and regional markets; travel locally as required.
Job Specification:
  • Proven sales experience in automotive spare parts (3+ years), preferably truck or bus components.
  • Strong knowledge of European truck parts and Chinese bus part categories, fitment, and interchangeability issues.
  • Consultative selling: needs assessment, product recommendation, quotation preparation, and closing.
  • Negotiation and record-keeping; comfortable with CRM entry and basic sales reporting.
  • Languages: clear communication in English and Kiswahili.
  • Basic technical aptitude to explain part functions and guide correct selections/compatibility checks.
  • Organizational skills to coordinate orders, follow up on deliveries, and manage after-sales issues.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in the field; able to attend local trade events and customer sites.
