Research Expert / External Examiner

Role Overview

EduVanta Global engages qualified academics to serve as external examiners for Master by Research and PhD candidates. The External Examiner will conduct independent, rigorous reviews of research theses and provide detailed examiner reports aligned with international academic standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Critically evaluate research design, methodology, data analysis, and academic writing in Master by Research and PhD theses
• Prepare detailed, structured, and constructive examiner reports
• Provide objective, evidence-based assessments identifying strengths, gaps, and recommendations for improvement
• Maintain fairness, confidentiality, and ethical standards in examination
• Occasionally use learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas) to review submissions (if required)

• Must-have: Advanced research expertise in a relevant discipline (Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or related fields)
• Must-have: PhD degree
• Must-have: Minimum 5 years relevant experience and demonstrated ability to evaluate postgraduate research (Master by Research / PhD)
• Must-have: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Must-have: Excellent academic writing and reporting skills
• Must-have: Proficiency in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research methodologies
• Must-have: Understanding of academic integrity and ethics
• Preferred: Experience supervising or examining postgraduate research students
• Preferred: Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Moodle or Canvas
