Project Development & Management Trainee

• Small consultancy with active projects in child welfare/protection and women’s social and economic inclusion.
• Provide cross-functional support across active projects and contribute to new business development.
• Role designed for a recent Master’s graduate to apply academic training to project implementation and proposal development.

Mandatory academic qualification

• Master’s degree completed within the last 36 months in Project Management, Development Studies, International Development, Human Rights Law, International Relations, or a closely related field.
• Thesis/project component demonstrating research capability.
• Full professional or native proficiency in English.
• Right to live and work in Zimbabwe.

Other role requirements

• Willingness to undertake local field travel as required.
• Commitment to a long-term full-time traineeship/internship (on-site in Harare).

• Academic (mandatory): Master’s degree (completed within 36 months) with dissertation/thesis or major research project; strong academic record.
• Professional competencies: Advanced research and analytical skills; strong writing and editing for proposals and reports; understanding of project cycle management and development frameworks; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration tools; willingness to learn new software.
• Personal attributes: Proactive, resourceful, professional demeanor, strong work ethic, ability to manage multiple priorities, willingness to travel locally.
• Desirable: Basic familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks; previous exposure to development-sector work.
