Overview:
Kadwa Inc. ZA is hiring experienced plumbers to support mining and industrial operations in Johannesburg. The role supports both open-cast and underground mining sites and involves maintenance, installation and repair of plumbing systems in heavy industrial environments while following strict safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, maintenance and repair of water, compressed air and process piping systems, valves, pumps and associated fixtures across plant and site facilities.
• Inspect, diagnose and rectify leaks, blockages, pressure and flow issues in industrial piping and drainage systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics and piping schematics to execute accurate installations and modifications.
• Fabricate, cut, thread and join pipe materials (steel, PVC, HDPE, copper) using welding, brazing and mechanical joining and mechanical coupling techniques.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and document work performed; maintain spares inventory and request parts as needed.
• Work safely in confined spaces and follow permit-driven work systems, lock-out/tag-out procedures and site-specific safety protocols.
• Operate hoisting/lifting equipment and use hand and power tools safely.

Job Specification: Must-have:

• Minimum 3-5 years industrial plumbing experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry or large manufacturing plants.
• Trade certification or technical diploma in Plumbing, Pipefitting, Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Competent with pipefitting techniques: threading, welding, brazing, flanging and mechanical coupling.
• Ability to read and interpret piping diagrams, isometrics and technical maintenance manuals.
• Experience with pump systems, valves (gate, globe, ball), pressure testing and leak detection.
• Knowledge of water treatment, drainage, sewage and process water systems in industrial settings.
• Skilled in use of hand and power tools, hoisting and lifting equipment, grinders and cutting tools.
• Familiarity with confined-space entry, lock-out/tag-out, risk assessments and permit-driven work systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding and preventive maintenance planning; good record-keeping and parts requisition experience.

Preferred:

• Relevant safety certifications (confined space, working at heights).
