Gym Trainer

Job Description: Energy Avenue seeks a certified Gym Trainer to join Fortis Gym in Muharraq, Manama, Bahrain. The Gym Trainer will deliver safe, effective training to a diverse membership and contribute to class programming and facility culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and deliver personalized training programs based on assessments, goals, and fitness level.
• Lead small-group and scheduled group exercise classes with clear instruction and progressions.
• Perform initial fitness assessments, track client progress, and adjust plans to ensure results and safety.
• Teach proper exercise technique, spotting, and use of equipment; supervise the gym floor to prevent injuries.
• Provide nutrition guidance within scope of practice and refer clients to specialists when needed.
• Maintain professional records, scheduling, and follow-up communications to improve retention.
• Support facility upkeep: equipment checks, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety protocols.
• Participate in team meetings.

Job Specification:

• Certified personal trainer credential from a recognized organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, ISSA, or equivalent).
• Diploma or degree in exercise science, kinesiology, sports science, or equivalent.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Strong knowledge of exercise science: strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, mobility, corrective exercise.
• Proficiency in conducting fitness assessments, creating periodized programs, and tracking measurable outcomes.
• Group class leadership: safe cueing, pacing, and class management skills.
• Basic nutrition counseling skills and ability to refer when appropriate.
• Familiarity with gym equipment operation, maintenance checks, and safety procedures.
• Good record-keeping, punctuality, professionalism; comfortable using scheduling and client-management software.
