Education & Outreach Intern

Job Description: Green Upshot is an award-winning sustainability startup promoting eco-friendly products, plastic-free living, and practical sustainable lifestyle solutions across Pakistan. The Education & Outreach Intern will support community engagement, educational programming, and outreach campaigns in Lahore and nearby neighborhoods. The intern will work with the outreach lead to design and deliver workshops, coordinate events, and measure engagement outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and delivering school and community workshops on plastic reduction, waste segregation, and sustainable consumer habits
• Develop clear, audience-appropriate educational materials and activity guides for children and students
• Coordinate event logistics and volunteer support
• Collect basic data and feedback (attendance, feedback summaries)
• Support social media content capture and coordinate with the communications team
• Travel locally within Lahore for outreach activities

Job Specification:

• Must have:
  
• Strong verbal communication and public speaking
• Comfortable facilitating small workshops and school sessions
• Basic knowledge of environmental issues, plastic pollution, and waste reduction principles
• Organizational skills for event planning, volunteer coordination, and logistics management
• Ability to create concise, audience-tailored educational materials and activities for children and adults
• Basic data collection and reporting skills (attendance, feedback, summaries)
• Interpersonal skills for outreach to schools, NGOs, and local businesses
• Social media literacy: taking photos, writing short captions, coordinating with communications team
• Fluent in Urdu and competent in English for written materials and stakeholder interactions
• Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to travel locally within Lahore
