Debt Collection Attorney

Role summary:

• Independently handle debt collection and related litigation matters in High Court and Magistrate's Court, including Sectional Title levy collections.
• Manage diary using a legal practice management system and draft pleadings and correspondence.

Minimum requirements:

• LLB degree and admitted as an Attorney.
• 1 to 2 years post-admission experience in High Court & Magistrate's Court litigation and debt collection.
• Experience with Sectional Title levy collections highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of applicable legislation for debt collection and sectional title levy collections.
• Computer literate: MS Office, Caselines, Court Online, practice management systems.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
• Stable employment record and contactable references.
• Reside within daily commuting distance of Edenvale; available to start as soon as possible.

Key duties:

• Attend to debt collection, sectional title levy collection and litigation matters for the firm.
• Manage own diary on legal practice management system.
• Draft pleadings and correspondence; ensure accuracy and factual correctness before filing/submission to courts.

• LLB degree and admission as an Attorney
• 12 years post-admission experience in High Court & Magistrate's Court litigation and debt collection
• Sectional Title Levy Collections experience (preferred)
• MS Office, Caselines, Court Online, practice management systems
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle
• Stable employment history and references
