Butcher

Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and reliable Butcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning meat in line with quality, hygiene, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Cutting, trimming, deboning, and preparing different types of meat
• Portioning meat according to production or customer requirements
• Preparing products for display, packaging, or further processing
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
• Using butcher tools, knives, saws, grinders, and other equipment safely and correctly
• Checking the quality and freshness of meat products
• Storing meat properly in line with company and legal standards
• Keeping the work area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety procedures
• Cooperating with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations

Job Specification: Must have

• Previous experience as a butcher or in meat processing (minimum 4 years)
• Good knowledge of meat cutting, deboning, and preparation techniques
• Ability to use butcher tools and machinery safely (knives, saws, grinders)
• Understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards
• Attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina and willingness to work in cold conditions
• Team spirit, responsibility, and reliability

Preferred

• Experience in butcher shops, supermarkets, meat production facilities, or slaughterhouses
• Experience in preparing meat for retail display or sale
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
