Accountant

Job Description: Nexus Aviation, a Sialkot-based logistics and supply chain sole proprietorship, seeks an experienced Accountant to manage financial operations supporting air and ground freight, export documentation, cargo handling, consolidation and inventory activities. The role reports to the proprietor and works closely with operations, sales and warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting and compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting: record accounts payable and receivable, process vendor and customer invoices, reconcile bank statements, and manage petty cash.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, profit & loss statements and balance sheets; provide variance analysis and cash flow updates.
• Ensure timely Sales Tax/GST and Income Tax filings; prepare supporting schedules for audits and regulatory inspections.
• Generate customer invoices for freight and logistics services, follow up on receivables, and coordinate with operations to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Monitor transport and logistics costs and support cost-analysis activities.
• Perform month-end close tasks, journal entries, and inventory reconciliations.

Job Specification: Must-have

• Minimum 2 years relevant accounting experience (logistics, freight forwarding or SME preferred).
• Full-cycle bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, AR/AP management, journal entries, month-end close, financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan Sales Tax/GST and Income Tax procedures and statutory compliance.
• Competency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, SAP Business One or similar.
• Proficient in Excel: reconciliations, pivot tables, formulas and cash flow modeling.
• Attention to detail for billing accuracy and inventory reconciliations; good communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• ACCA part-qualified or equivalent accounting certification.
