Health Technician

The Health Technician supports nursing staff, dispensary operations, and basic clinical services at a community clinic in Islamabad. Works closely with physicians and allied health personnel to ensure safe, efficient patient care and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist nurses and physicians with patient intake, measurement of vital signs, basic wound care, and specimen collection.
• Prepare, label, and dispense medications under supervision; maintain pharmacy stock and ensure proper storage.
• Perform routine clinical procedures and maintain accurate patient records (electronic or paper).
• Ensure infection-control standards; clean and prepare examination rooms and sterilize basic instruments.
• Support appointment scheduling, triage incoming patients, and provide patients with basic instructions and follow-up information.
• Monitor medical supplies inventory and place orders as required.

• Clinical skills: taking vitals, basic wound dressing, specimen collection and handling.
• Dispensary competencies: medication labeling, inventory control, drug storage awareness.
• Administrative: maintaining patient records, appointment coordination, basic data entry.
• Safety & compliance: infection control, sterilization procedures, safe handling of clinical waste.
• Communication: clear, compassionate patient communication and teamwork.
• Technical aptitude: basic clinical equipment and patient monitoring devices; ability to learn clinic software.
